2024 Total Solar Eclipse
I had the opportunity to see the 2024 eclipse on April 8 and take pictures. At this point I did not have a useful telescope for photography, but the powerful zoom lens on my Fujifilm Finepix SL1000 worked well for some simple shots throughout the event. I hand-tracked the sun using my AZ3 mount.
I captured numerous images of the partial phases, but this was one of my favorite shots:
Something really interesting about partial phase images is seeing the moon’s surface features silhouetted against the sun.
Seeing the total eclipse was an incredible and unique experience, and I’m looking forward to the next one.
